Learn to Swim with Courtneys’ at Water World.
Courtneys’ has always enjoyed great success
in developing swimmers’ abilities. We only use
qualified ASA Swimming Teachers using the ASA National
Plan for Teaching Swimming.
Enrolments
All courses are run on a York School term
basis and enrolments take place three times a year
:- March/April, July/August and December. Some courses
are very popular and so we therefore operate a waiting
list at Reception. Click here

What is the National Plan for Teaching Swimming
(NPTS) ?
The NPTS has been developed by the ASA to provide
a template for learn to swim schemes. It has been
designed to assist qualified teachers whose own experience
and training will enhance the implementation of the
plan.
The NPTS is a comprehensive, integrated, progressive
teaching programme based upon sound technical and
educational principles and provides a standard reference
for those responsible for planning swimming programmes.
Classes
All classes are 30 minutes.
Ducklings
Age 1-4 years old
Mondays 10am-11.30am Wednesdays 10am-11am
Working towards the Ducklings badges grades 1-5
Juniors
Age 4 years and over
Monday to Thursday 4pm-6pm, Friday 3.45pm-6.15pm
Saturday and Sunday 8.30am-11am
Working towards NPTS badges level 1-12
Adults
Age 16 years and over Tuesday 7pm-7.30pm
Ladies only swim session
We have a new Ladies only swim session on Thursday
evenings 9-10pm. This is free for members & £2.90
for non-members.
Private Lessons Age 4 years and over
Available for all levels of ability at a
time to suit both pupil and teacher. Please contact
the Swim Lesson co-ordinator, for further information.
Free Evaluations
If you are unsure which level your child would be
in, then we do offer a free evaluation with our qualified
teachers. This would take approximately 20 minutes.

Costs
The costs are per 30 minute lesson and are booked
and paid for as a course of between 10-14 weeks.
Price per class Ducklings £3.80, Juniors £4.00,
Adults £4.20.
